Welcome to a new classroom resource and a new
web site. I hope it will be really useful and a lot of fun
for you and your class. There is nothing new about
painting and nothing new about dressing up. What is
new is the idea that you can now wear your paintings.
And that is really exciting! Children can now actually
become their paintings. The possibilities are endless.
The idea would probably have been realised years ago if a suitable
fabric had been available. It was only when we succeeded in
creating Koloron that the idea became a reality. Koloron looks
and feels like white paper but is as strong as a woven fabric.
Only Koloron meets the very stringent safety standards necessary for childrens play.
Now Koloron has arrived a whole world of creative play has opened up to our kids. Koloron
has many properties not least its price. It is the first fabric to be truly affordable for all schools everywhere.
Camies® garments are now finding their way into classrooms throughout the UK and it wont be long before they are all around the world. The reason is simply that they provide teachers and children with something new that works. Children enjoy dressing up and Camies® involves them totally in their lessons. Motivation and attention are all improved and that helps them learn.
A class in Cheshire is learning Road Safety Awareness by letting the children become road signs. A class in Wales has been making up big words by being letters and joining together to create words. And in Edinburgh a playgroup has made real progress with the meaning of numbers, its easy when youre a 6 or a 2 all morning. Also last Christmas in Norwich, a choir and a school play, were made up completely of Camies® garments.
We are getting exciting feedback frequently now, in fact weve devoted a page for teachers and parents comments. There seems no end to the ideas, perhaps you can let us know how your class use them.
Koloron doesnt end with dressing up either, some schools have encouraged children to design and paint their own curtains. Koloron is simply cut to length and hung using ring clips. Koloron will not fray and you can glue it, just like paper. Its great for stage scenery, super for indoor banners and wonderful
for hanging murals in the classroom. Most important is the safety standards build into
Koloron BS EN 71 and BS 5722 the same standard used to test fire retardancy in
childrens night wear.
Youll find lots of exciting ideas for your class to do by clicking on Activities at the start of this site. All of them have been written by educational specialists and have direct relevance to the UK national Curriculum. Also you can e-mail the authors and cover aspects of their work and its application to your class. If you would like to comment please e-mail our editor Professor Ken Baynes
We are happy to hear from you and lean how you get on.
